Wicklow GAA star Mark Jackson solidified his NFL kicking credentials by nailing a 70-yard field goal on the final day of his training camp stateside.Jackson is one of a number of Irish sporting stars, mostly from the World of GAA, who have been in America trying to impress NFL scouts and secure a professional contract with an American Football team.
Speaking earlier this month after the Combine in Indianapolis, Leader’s older brother, Tadhg, who is the brains behind the four players’ expedition to the US, said: “All 32 NFL teams were there and the team co-ordinators were there who are the head guys and the general consensus was like, ‘Wow, ye guys competed against the best of the best and ye didn’t look out of place on that field’.
