primary school to send pupils home because of high Covid-19 case numbers puts the new policy of not contact tracing infected classes under the spotlight.
When does the rising number of cases in a classroom constitute a class outbreak that requires the testing of all pupils to determine if the virus is spreading in a classroom? One could hear the frustration in Vicky Barron’s voice, the principal of CBS primary school in Wexford, when she spoke about the challenge of managing a growing number of cases.
Yes. And stupid and dangerous.
Yes
Lateral flow tests like uk should be implemented and ignore nephet track and trace to return immediately 5000 school children infected and no social distancing and they wonder why we have a spike ffs
Huge mistake.
No is the answer, LFT kits should be made free and readily available to all, so everyone can test themselves at home or school, it’s that simple, and then if positive get pcr test to confirm,
A catastrophe
It was No mistake, it was done in purpose, as they knew the cases were rising in schools and more and more kids were getting sick.. by doing what they done parents get to go to work pay their taxes and pay the TDs wages, schools are not safe and never were safe
From the get go schools reported honestly the situation on the ground. Your newspaper and most other media outlets ignored them and instead continued with teacher bashing. The fact that you are asking shows you are still not listening. But there’s hope now that you might.
Yes. It was hiding the truth
Yep
The fact that the question has to be asked is enough to make me descend to the absolute depths of despair.
No but this country not using home antigen tests along side the decision is behind the drive curve and the practice of other European countries. Would make a difference to any workplace setting.
Let's be honest, they couldn't cope
You're asking the public instead of the Minister for Health, HSE and NPHET 🤦🏻♂️
Was 100% complete stupidity …
They stopped doing it because they were overwhelmed. Positive case in kid’s class: took 7 days for the HSE to contact the principal. By then sure it’s too late! It was very convenient that they stopped contact tracing half way through those 7 days. No kid got tested or sent home.
There was never any significant contact tracing in schools in the first place.
Yes
