A US Senator has said that America will prioritise doing a trade deal with the EU over the UK once Brexit has happened.

Democratic Senator from Connecticut Chris Murphy is currently on a visit to the UK, Northern Ireland and Ireland to report back to congressional colleagues on Brexit.

He said that he was "skeptical" that any trade deal with the UK would ever happen, pointing out that there was not enough time to negotiate and pass a deal before the end of President Trump's first term in office and the current Congressional session. He said there was cross-party support on Capitol Hill to protect the Good Friday Agreement, the Northern Ireland peace process and to prevent the return to a hard border on the island of Ireland.

A democratic senator ? Really ?

Duh! 512m people V 65m. It’s a numbers game. That’s why it’s better on the inside of the EU. Why would anyone leave the big pond?

Do you want their chlorinated chicken? Mind you he’ll reverse it as soon as it’s agreed 🙄

of course, 500 million people vs 60. Thats just common sense.

Now there’s a surprise...NOT

That’s not what President Trump said last week. It was the other way around.

Says one democrat senator.

Hopefully they leave soon🙏🏻 None of us deserve to listen to anymore of this drivel from the uk/NI🙉🙌🏻 Ironically Jean-Claude Juncker by not accommodating TMay may well in the long run be accommodating the UK. Resounding defeats of her solo run Deal show clearly that TMay is not the UK.
