US Singer Meat Loaf dies aged 74 with wife Deborah by his side

The Grammy award winning star passed away on Thursday night, with the news being confirmed by his agent and friend Michael Greene.His daughters Pearl and Amanda also spent time with their father before his passing.A statement released by his family reads as follows: "Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight with his wife Deborah by his side.

"We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man. "We thank you for your understanding of our need for privacy at this time. From his heart to your souls…don’t ever stop rocking!"

Meat Loaf has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, and is probably best known for his chart-topping hits Bat Out of Hell and I Would Do Anything For Love. He also starred in the 1975 film version of acclaimed stage musical, The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The movie, considered an all-time classic, also starred Susan Sarandon and Tim Curry.The singer and actor's other screen credits include Roadie, Motorama, Leap of Faith and Americathon. He also starred in the 2017 TV series Ghost Wars.
