Two urgent food recalls were issued on Friday by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland over safety fears.The batch of MAMA Oriental Style Instant Noodles with Tom Yum Pork Flavour is being taken off shelves due to the possible presence of glass.MAMA is a popular noodles brand that is sold in many speciality stores and supermarkets across Ireland, including Tesco.
The FSAI said point-of-sale recall notices will be displayed in stores supplied with the implicated batch. In a separate alert issued on Friday, a sports store also issued a food recall for one of its products. Decathlon is recalling a batch of its Forclaz Rice and Chicken Curry due to the presence of the unauthorised pesticide ethylene oxide.The FSAI says that "although the consumption of the contaminated product does not pose an acute risk to health, there may be health issues if there is continued consumption of ethylene oxide over a long period of time".A point-of-sale recall notice will be displayed in the Decathlon store supplied with the implicated batch.
