Under fire TD Noel Grealish told to 'come out of hiding' after migrant comments

Green Party Deputy Leader Catherine Martin has called on under-fire TD Noel Grealish to “come out of hiding.”

She said: “This is a really dangerous comment from an elected member of our national parliament because it’s giving license to say, that is okay.“These are our most vulnerable people, people fleeing from unimaginable circumstances. “And for our Taoiseach to say, oh, well, it’s not compulsory, they can pull out of it when they wish.She added: “I would say that the Deputy who these remarks are attributed to should come out of hiding as well because he hasn’t been seen and I think this deserves to be confronted.“There are many people who wish to address that with the Deputy, but at the very, very least, the Deputy in question needs to come out and give a full apology.

"These are people that are coming over here from Africa to... to sponge off the system here in Ireland.
