It is understood locals were concerned about the practicalities of the name change, and the impact it would have on the likes of property deeds and maps. Meanwhile Councillor Peter O'Brien - who proposed the original motion - says while there will still be consultation with residents, he does not expect a vote on the name change to go ahead.
