EXCLUSIVE: Gardaí are investigating after Sam Ewing and Jack Kennedy were the victims of an early-morning attack in the middle of Naas

Gardaí are hunting a gang of thugs who attacked two talented Irish jockeys – days after they starred at Cheltenham.

Sources say the pair, who both won races for Gordon Elliott at the Cheltenham Festival that had finished three days earlier, were attacked by a mob of young men from another part of Kildare. The Irish Mirror has established that Antrim-born Mr Ewing, 20, was singled out by the mob as he walked along South Main Street in Naas around 3am on Monday, March 18.

It’s understood the two respected jockeys were repeatedly punched and kicked in the shocking attack – before they managed to escape.It’s understood they have already canvassed CCTV footage from the area and are working to find the attackers – who are believed to be from the Kildare/Wicklow area.
