A woman in her 30s and a young boy were taken to Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise after the collision

On Sunday, footage was shared widely across social media, which appeared to show a car smashing into a trailer being pulled by a small train float during festivities in Stradbally.

The steam engine-style train can be seen pulling along a tiny trailer as onlookers watch the parade, before a car appears to slam into the back of the trailer. A woman and young male on the trailer were injured.Spectators were shocked by the collision and rushed to help. A woman in her 30s as well as a male youth were both rushed to Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise for treatment where their injuries are understood to be non-life threatening.
