Both men – who are regular soldiers and not members of the Army Ranger Ewing – were injured while taking part in separate jumps over Co Kildare on Thursday morning

Two Defence Forces parachutists were being treated in hospital on Thursday night after they were injured during training jumps.

It’s understood each soldier broke a bone while landing at the Defence Forces Training Centre at the Curragh Camp. Neither of them suffered life-threatening injuries.The men were part of the Defence Forces Parachute Club, which is made up of military personnel of all ranks. It is separate from the Army Ranger Wing, which has specially-trained parachutists.

He said: “Two personnel sustained injuries on landing during routine parachute display team training today in the Defence Forces Training Centre.
