Susan Buckner, an American actor best known for her role as Patty Simcox in the 1978 musical Grease, has died aged 72.

Rest in peace Susan. Your talent, spirit and infectious smile will live on in our hearts forever.”
Buckner appeared on TV variety shows before landing the role of Patty Simcox in the 1978 musical comedy Grease, starring Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta. In a memorable scene, Bucknell's character gives a rallying cry for the school when she says: "Do the splits, give a yell, show a little spirit for Old Rydell! Way to go, red and white, go Rydell, fight, fight, fight."
