A lot of talented people have been assembled for the show

Poker FaceThe show sees the actress play Charlie Cale, a woman with an extraordinary ability to determine when someone is lying, who we follow as she hits the road with her Plymouth Barracuda. However, at every stop on her travels, she"encounters a new cast of characters and strange crimes she can’t help but solve".

The show was created by filmmaker Rian Johnson, who on top of helming Star Wars: The Last Jedi, also wrote and directed the acclaimed mystery movies Brick, Knives Out and the latter's upcoming sequel Glass Onion. And as can be expected given Johnson's proficiency with mysteries, he is putting a twist on the format with Poker Face.As opposed to following a season-long investigation the way modern shows like Mare of Easttown, The Sinner or True Detective did, his new series will see each episode focus on a different mystery, recalling older programmes like Columbo. It seems Poker Face's case-of-the-week structure has enabled Johnson to recruit a star-studded cast of guest stars for the project.

Adrien Brody, Chloë Sevigny, Ellen Barkin, Jameela Jamil, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lil Rel Howery, Nick Nolte, Ron Perlman, Simon Helberg, Stephanie Hsu and Tim Blake Nelson are all slated to make appearances in the show. Comprising 10 episodes, Poker Face premieres on 26 January 2022. You can check out its trailer below.
