This Bank Holiday weekend saw a number of restrictions eased - particularly for the hospitality industry - as the government opted to allow for some normality as the winter months approach.

Health officials reported 1,725 new cases on Sunday, as HSE Chief Paul Reid confirmed that some hospitals are opting to cancel elective surgeries to cope with the influx of patients with respiratory illnesses. In a video posted on social media by the Department of Health, Dr. Glynn explained that the need for masks, social distancing, and Covid-19 vaccines will remain our best tools in the fight against another surge of infection.
