The Nugents were crowned winners of Ireland's Fittest Family on Sunday night following a nail-biting finale.
The super fit family from Co Louth is made up of father Donal, mum Margaret and sons Danny and Finn and their main fitness interests include rugby, basketball, pilates, and athletics. This year's finale took place in extremely wet conditions on The Mountain in Kilruddery, where each family took on Mountain Madness and Back Against the Wall to earn points, before the bottom two faced an eliminator and the loser exited the competition.
Only two families made it through to the Grand Final, with the Nugent's having the edge over The Fitzsimons' from Wicklow in the end in what was an incredible final, coming right down to the wire on the ramp.He said: "The Nugent's are going into the final as underdogs, but we’ll fight with everything we have and take it from there, we want the title of Ireland’s Fittest Family going to Louth and we can make that happen.
