Host Patrick Kielty was joined by famous faces and lesser known heroes over the course of the programme as the GAA was celebrated.
Among those to join Kielty in studio was former Sunday Game pundit Joe Brolly, with some viewers calling for the All-Ireland winner to be reemployed by RTE in his old role as a result of his appearance on Friday's show.Brolly's comments and appearance led to plenty of comments on social media, including one from the sister of murdered Detective Garda Colm Horkan, who was shot dead in in Castlerea, County Roscommon, in June 2020.
Deirdre Horkan recalled how the former Derry player visited the family following the detective's death and "brought humour and humanity" to a house that was "broken". She posted on X, formerly known as Twitter: "Joe Brolly a great GAA man, he called to see us after Colm died, no one asked him too, done out of kindness, for a few hours he brought humour and humanity to house that was broken, that’s the GAA family always looking after each other, he’s a gentleman."
A number of people praised Brolly for the act of kindness, with one person writing: "It’s things like that you really remember and respect people for."Someone else said: "GAA people pick families up, surround them with comfort and get practicalities sorted in their hour of need."
