A fantasy re-telling of the medieval story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, it is written and directed by David Lowery, the man behind some visionary outings like A Ghost Story, The Old Man & The Gun, and Ain't Them Bodies Saints. The cast includes Dev Patel , Alicia Vikander , Joel Edgerton , Sean Harris , and our own Barry Keoghan.
The visuals from the trailer certainly do suggest a nightmarish, violent take on the myth, with some eye-popping moments , but it is tough to see that wooden dude at the very end and not think of The Night King, not to mention that some actual Game Of Thrones cast members pop up here, too. The Green Knight arrives in US cinemas on Friday 29 May, with no set release date for this side of the Atlantic.
