Earlier this month, Ireland enjoyed a brief burst of early summer weather, but it ended dramatically with thunderstorms rumbling across the country.
The national forecaster predicts rain or showers most days with top temperatures dropping well back and barely reaching double digits at times. However, it is not all bad news and there is a glimmer of hope on the horizon. Met Eireann’s long range forecast says of next week : “Climatological norms are expected to be observed with respect to wind. Temperatures may be a degree or so above normal and it is likely to be drier than typical for the time of year.”But in the meantime, Ireland can expect almost autumnal-like weather with the unsettled conditions persisting.
“A cloudy day on Saturday with a spell of rain gradually tracking northeastwards from Munster. It will be mildest across Ulster, where it could stay largely dry until the evening. Highest temperatures of 11C to 15C in mostly moderate southeast winds. Rain will continue to track northeastwards across the country Saturday night with clear spells and showers following the clearance. Lowest temperatures of 8C to 11C in light southerly winds.
