Ukraine Crisis,Temple Street Childrens Hospital

Unable to perform surgeries in Ireland after being referred to the Irish Medical Council, Connor Green has instead undertaken a 'mercy mission' to Ukraine

A surgeon at the centre of an ongoing investigation into spinal surgeries at Temple Street Children’s Hospital has put his life on the line to take up a voluntary role in war-ravaged Ukraine, providing training in reconstruction surgery on the seriously injured following Russia’s military invasion of the country.

“I know that he is potentially a target . I have, in the past, spoken in the UN in Geneva about the myth of medical neutrality in war zones, and I am witness to the targeting of medical personnel in conflict zones. I look forward to his safe return soon both to Ireland and to work.” “Connor is free to go there, and it is what medics do, and the public should be aware that suitably-trained doctors are willing and able to do this kind of work. Connor Green is not allowed work in Ireland at the moment, and I think that is very relevant,” Prof McCormack said.

“Hopefully stays safe and gets back. He Conor feels he is going off to an environment that for him is more welcoming than CHI,” Prof McCormack said.
