New teachers are set to be paid a €2000 incentive to take up new jobs - as school struggle to hire staff due to high accommodation prices due to the cost of living crisis

New teachers are set to benefit from a new incentive which will see them benefit from an extra €2000 when they take up a new teaching job.

Newly qualified teachers who take up a full time role for the coming school year would receive the payment next summer. "In primary alone about 40- 50 thousand children every single day didn't have qualified teachers in front of their class. We've had about 3000 vacancies this year.
