Taylor Swift mania hit fever pitch on Friday night as the US superstar played her first Irish concert in six years.
The pop icon was in electric form as she launched into set opener Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince from the 2019 album Lover. And her juggernaut of a set, which lasted for almost three and a half hours, never lost its energy. Taylor shifted effortlessly from one album to the next, just as comfortable performing the breezy pop anthems such as Cruel Summer and You Need To Calm Down as she was taking on the emotional break-up ballads and the razor-sharp lyrics of Reputation.
The dreamy and more reflective folk charm of her 2020 albums Folklore and Evermore brought a huge change in the musical atmosphere before fans lapped up the nostalgia fix of breakthrough album 1989 with gargantuan tunes such as Shake it Off and Style. The visual effects throughout the evening take stadium show production to a new level, from the flame towers during Bad Blood, the cabin during the Folklore section and the snake imagery in Reputation.
