A Status Yellow rainfall warning has been issued for eight counties, with Met Éireann warning of a risk of spot flooding in some areas

The warning has been issued for counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford. The forecaster has warned that heavy rain tonight will lead to accumulations of 20 of 30mm in places, with a risk of spot flooding.
