‘My grandmother felt culture shock in Ireland. People here were far more status-conscious than she was used to’'My grandmother experienced unexpected culture shock in Ireland. People here were 'far more status-conscious' than what she was used to, and she was struck by how priests and nuns were given preferential treatment in public spaces' I'm struck by how insular and bucolic Ireland is after just visiting for the first time from the US I still prefer it It's at that stage again there so many young people leaving Ireland for work and then our so called government are taking thousands of people in here from other countries and as they say its like living in Las Vegas. And winning the lotto. What an inspirational person she was. What a legacy she has left for her family!

How Pope Benedict ignored Vatican responsibility for child sex abuse in IrelandIt must be acknowledged that Pope Benedict XVI was the first holder of that office to take the clerical child sexual abuse scandal seriously. That said, few in Ireland could feel wholeheartedly grateful about that, writes Patsy McGarry. German Pope - Never mind, there'll be another one along in 500 years or so - Hooray! As a cardinal in Germany he lead a task force that chose to ignore the allegations and reaffirmed that canon law superseded the law of the land. So nope. If this gang of pedophiles where really all about God and helping people they’d give their billions in gold and money away to the poor 🤷‍♂️you don’t see them doing that because their scamming people and raping kids 🤮one less to worry about I suppose 🤷‍♂️😝
