The jury in the Stardust Inquests has retired for the evening after considering its verdict for a second day.
The victims ranged in age from 16 to 27 and died when a blaze started in the North Dublin nightclub in the early hours of Valentine’s Day 1981.The jurors have five verdicts available to them; accidental death, death by misadventure, unlawful killing, an open verdict and a narrative verdict. This afternoon, they came back with a number of questions for the coroner – including if their verdicts could be used in any subsequent legal proceedings.
