She made the announcement as part of a summer safety campaign with the Road Safety Authority and the Garda. The Garda also announced 61 new safety camera zones, bringing the total to 1,373. “I will also be doubling fines for offences which put the safety of our children who are walking, cycling, or scooting to school at risk. Increasing fines for these offences will act as a stronger deterrent to those who break our lifesaving rules of the road,” she said.
“There’s more schoolchildren out and about, and we’re asking people to slow down on our roads and to be extra vigilant, particularly for our pedestrians, cyclists, and vulnerable road users”. “It’s about asking the public and drivers to have that responsibility themselves. Just saw a guy speeding down Strand Rd Sandymount, must have been doing at least 100km/hr. Didn't even slow for the speed bumps. Suppose he'll be dead soon at that rate, or heaven forbid, kill someone else.
Sure that’s great punish drivers even more, while there’s sex attackers being told to leave the country and still here, what type of joke system is in place.
