Ms Lynch was taken to University Hospital Galway but she tragically passed away on Monday March 25

The woman who died 10 days after she was injured in a road traffic collision in Galway has been named locally as mother-of-two, Irene Lynch.

Writing on social media, Ms Lynch's sister, Marcella Romaine Lynch, said her "heart was broken beyond repair". "Ten days we watched you lie there praying for you to be okay, but unfortunately God had other plans for you and your little baby my niece or nephew. Marcella said her parents were "devastated" at the death of their daughter and she promised her sister she would "take care" of her two children."They brought you into this world n they held your hands while u took your last breath while we all your family were there beside you."I promise you that we will take care of Daniel and Isobel for you.
