Operation Transformation announce first Leader will be Dublin mum Claire Beakhurst

The 31-year-old lives in Malahide, Co Dublin, with her five-year-old daughter and currently weighs 16st 5lbs.The child’s father has never been in the picture, so being a single mum has brought challenges. And it is little Ellie who inspired her to apply for the show, to be a good role model and positive influence. And she has recently purchased her own Grafton Barber's franchise.Claire doesn’t look at herself in the mirror as she really dislikes what she sees.

After the school run, she said she stops at the petrol station for sausage rolls and coffee and consumes a lot of energy drinks to keep herself going through her busy day.She would normally puff around 15 to 20 a day so she feels giving them up would be really hard. Now is the right time for Claire to alter her ways, as her friends and family have noticed a change in her personality.

They said she used to be the life and soul of the party but more and more shies away from being sociable. Our Irish Mirror Sports page - which brings you all your Irish and UK sports news - can be found here. The Irish Mirror Twitter account is @IrishMirror while our sports account is @MirrorSportIE.Claire feels all of the extra weight she is carrying and feels sore and tired all the time.
