The legendary Irish singer has passed away at the age of 56, leaving friends, family and fans devastated.
In recent years, she took a step back from the media and wasn't doing many interviews - however, her final one was part of Sky documentary, Nothing Compares.The critically acclaimed documentary film charts Sinéad O’Connor’s phenomenal rise to worldwide fame and how her iconoclastic personality resulted in her exile from the pop mainstream.
It is set to broadcast exclusively on Sky Documentaries and NOW from the 29th of July, according to Sky. The documentary was directed by Kathryn Ferguson and will explore the singer’s musical heritage and take a look at the cultural impact she made through a feminist lens. Sinead goes into detail about her complicated relationship with her late mother and her home life in the documentary, as well as her attitude to fame.Shane MacGowan and his wife Victoria Mary Clarke took to Twitter to share a heartfelt message, writing: "We don’t really have words for this but we want to thank you Sinead for your love and your friendship and your compassion and your humour and your incredible music. We pray that you are at peace now with your beautiful boy.
