Taoiseach Simon Harris has said that an incident in Castlebar over the weekend was “not protest” as he hit out at groups “impeding” people’s movements.
Mr Harris stressed that it was “not a protest” as he insisted that it would not “deter my continuous campaigning in this election.” “I do push back at the use of the word protest because I just feel it's entirely and utterly inappropriate,” he said. “But I do want to say this because I, and I’m sure the Tánaiste and I’m sure all party leaders and politicians, have crisscrossed this country over the last several weeks and we should never allow a very small number of people distort the reality.
