"When I saw Clare win the Munster Senior Football Championship in 1992 that’s when I realised I wanted to play as well. "If you had a good game he would bring you right down to earth. He said that a clap on the back was not too far from a slap on the backside."The Clare man said; "He told me to back myself and have the confidence to go forward. When I joined The Sunday Game this year he told me to back myself and that I was there on merit.

David had an incredible career for the Banner county, and he is still the all-time high scorer for the National Football League.
