Ex-Ireland skipper Rory Best has said he felt 'used' in the Belfast rape trial involving former Ulster and Ireland teammates Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding - which saw both men acquitted.
“I look back now in hindsight and I didn’t think of it at the time. Ultimately, I’m a trusting person and I look back now and I do think that I was used. Best received criticism online at the time of the trial, prompting the #NotMyCaptain hashtag to be shared on social media. The recently retired rugby star elaborated on his regret over the trial appearance, saying: “I know now in hindsight that was wrong. I shouldn’t have been there."
