Rise in Covid-19 cases is a ‘rain check’ for whole country, warns HSE’s Paul Reid

The increase comes as winter approaches and a “range of factors are really working against us at the moment” in the health service, he said.

While Covid-19 hospitalisations came down to 437 last night, with 88 in intensive care, Mr Reid said “that will grow over the coming weekend and most likely over the coming weeks.” But he said the level of vaccinations in society should prevent a return to a blanket cancellation on all non-Covid, non-emergency care, as happened during a wave of infections at the start of the year.

What's the excuse for the last 20 years every winter the health service was changed to the hse. We hear the same profit of doom about beds, surgeries cancelled, staff under pressure etc. But hey covid is a massive get out of jail card for mismanagement of our health service sure

Biggest factor working against health service is called Reid.

It’s called 40 years of mismanagement by individuals that aren’t fit to run a bath. They were hiding behind covid restrictions last year but now they have no where to hide. The problem is no one is accountable. If it were the private sector, they would be fired.

This is the HSE’s fault nobody else’s
