Technician Kieran Sharkey was named in state firm’s ongoing lawsuit against construction firm following allegations of clandestine payments

An ESB technician who is alleged to have been involved in the corrupt payments scandal has invoked his right to silence and refused to answer questions from his employer, according to High Court filings.

A trial has been set for July to determine whether the staffer’s right to silence permits him to lawfully refuse to respond to the ESB’s questions on the allegedly clandestine payments.
