Thirty-eight workers lost their jobs at Rehab Enterprises in Limerick in 2021 when it closed its logistics centre. The Labour Court recommended that the monies owed should be paid by the Rehab Group

Thirty-eight workers lost their jobs at Rehab Enterprises in 2021 when it closed its logistics centre."Our members are now some 20 months without their collectively agreed redundancy payments and are deeply frustrated by the continued delay by the Rehab Group in honouring the Labour Court recommendation that it should pay what they are owed," said SIPTU Organiser, Robbie Purfield.

"We are considering further actions we may take if the Rehab Group continues to delay in honouring the Labour Court recommendation," Mr Purfield said. A spokesperson for the Rehab Group said that Rehab Enterprises is a private company and a separate legal entity from any other entities in Rehab Group.

"Rehab Group is not Rehab Enterprise Ltd and has broader responsibilities, legal obligations, and constraints on how it can use any reserves," the spokesperson said. "However, the final Labour Court recommendation is currently being taken through the appropriate internal governance process, and we will be able to revert to those impacted as soon as we are able to do so."We have and continue to engage with SIPTU who are aware of the internal processes required and the fact that that this will take time to complete," the Rehab Group said.
