There are currently 28 people training in Shannon to become air traffic controllers

One of the challenges for Irish aviation is increasing staffing levels of air traffic controllers , the chairman designate of AirNav has told an Oireachtas committee.

Bryan Bourke said the semi-state company was working to increase the number of ATCs, and that 28 people were currently training in Shannon. He also said AirNav would launch a recruitment campaign on Thursday to attract qualified ATCs.
