Ireland Headlines News

The deforestation of Brazil's Amazon rainforest reached a record high for the first seven months of the year

Preliminary government data detailing the scale of the destruction was released as the region approaches the traditional peak of the annual burning season.

It breaks the record levels of deforestation set in 2021, according to Brazil's National Institute for Space Research , which collects the data. "The figures shock, but don't surprise," said Marcio Astrini, head of the environmental group Climate Observatory.

Deforestation of Amazon Forest to increase cattle production... while discussing culling of cattle in Ireland

Just like with the Great Barrier Reef, the misinformation around the Amazon is astounding. Yes there are more trees being cut down but it's overall size has grown due to increased replanting of trees to reolace ones cut down.

They need land to let the cattle of the world to graze on

And is killing a few cows is going to save the planet. That Ryan is a fecking laughing stock

Yet we are giving them our beef market

Meanwhile in Ireland we are crucified with carbon taxes - makes absolutely no sense

Thats so they can rear cattle while we cull them in Ireland.

Any comment from the pseudo greens?

And the Irish Govt. is complicit in its destruction.

You have to put the cows somewhere 🤷‍♂️

Don't worry it's okay. They'll use the land to rear the beef cattle and soya beans to feed us when we cut our farming output 👍

Instead of moaning about Brazil cutting down their trees we could grow more of our own or pay them to keep theirs. Instead of reducing the national herd we could reduce consumption.

There's going to be a lot more of it when RTE and their buddies in Fine Fail Green cull our herd.

And the Irish Govt wants to attack Irish farmers, introduce measures to cull Irish cattle and import beef from Brazil. You really couldn’t make it up.

How many more cows will we be cutting to make up for this?

All part of Irelands green agenda. All going to plan

Climate poverty

Blame the EU, this is the price to sell German and French cars to South America

I don't care

Keep growing that lettuce guys on those windows!!

Making way for 'Irish' beef.

They have to do this as Europe is cutting food production to feel smug.

Well as 'journalists ' maybe u should of asked ryan about this when he is going on about cutting our herd.

Yet the govt wants to outsource beef production to Brazil

But remember everyone - Ireland has too many cows.

So we’ll cull the national herd to buy Brazilian beef. 🙄

And a tiny rock, Ireland will save the world, ffs

Keep recycling those straws 👍
