A public rally against violence in Drogheda is taking place this afternoon.

The rally is being held following the murder of 17-year-old Keane Mulready-Woods.Fine Gael leader Leo Varadkar, Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin, Sinn Féin President Mary Lou McDonald and Labour leader Brendan Howlin are among those attending the rally.

Mr Martin said the march was about "the people saying stop" and they do not want criminals to win out, while Ms McDonald said there is fear and anger in the community and something needs to be done to make them feel safe.

The situation in Drogheda has been escalating for years, but it takes the combination of butchery and a GE campaign to get focus from 'leaders'.

The community know who it is they should band together and demand action. 'Dealers out' of the 90's style. Evict them from the community by people power. Point them out to the police. Loudly shame them in the street. If the police do nothing, call batman if needed!
