This weekend will see heavy rainfall in many parts of the country which is expected to carry on into next week which Met Éireann describes as "unsettled" as intermittent downpours and cooler temperatures plague our dreams of a sun summer once more.
O'Reilly of Carlow Weather on X wrote about the lead into the weekend: "A few showers around this evening but most areas dry. Some good sunny spells expected now tomorrow and mainly dry apart from odd shower in East and Northeast and mainly dry Friday too but more cloud in East and North." Friday "Patchy light rain or drizzle will mainly affect Leinster tomorrow, with the chance of isolated light showers elsewhere. Another cloudy day for most, however dry and bright conditions are expected over much of Munster. Highest temperatures of 12 to 16 degrees in light northwest to west winds."
