'Sometimes people will come up to me and ask if it is really me, and then ask if what I just did is actually legally binding' ruthscott ClassicHits

The Classic Hits host works as a broadcaster from Monday to Friday but often spends weekends working as a humanist celebrant.

Ruth told RSVP Live: “It probably is a random move. I had a Catholic upbringing but I realised as a teenager I am an atheist, I don’t believe in God. “I’m from a big family and we would have always had big gatherings for communions and confirmations. I thought, as an atheist, it’s hard to recreate those events without forward planning. But you can have humanist weddings, funerals and baby naming ceremonies.”

“I had to do training modules on weddings, funerals and baby naming and was tested on each of them. Following that, I successfully passed probation. “Sometimes at the end of weddings people will say, ‘I thought I recognised you when you introduced yourself as Ruth Scott.’ In pictures: Ruth Scott and her husband Rob Morgan View gallery Despite keeping busy with various ceremonies at the weekends, Ruth has no plans to hang up her radio mic as she is passionate about music and broadcasting.“I decided for the first year I was going to take all of the work, all of the time,” Ruth said.“Weddings take up several hours of the day, but I don't get up at 7am to sit in heavy traffic.
