The publicans are not happy

Furious publicans are demanding an early decision on whether they can welcome punters back inside on July 5th.

Restaurant lobbyists are also up in arms and are demanding a meeting with the Government as the same rules apply to the country’s eateries as pubs. It now accounts for 99% of new cases in the UK and the ECDC last night predicted it will make up 90% of all cases across Europe, including Ireland, by August.

And Restaurants Association of Ireland Chief Executive, Adrian Cummins, said his sector needs an urgent meeting with the Government.

Minister warns no guarantees over July travel planMinister of State Ossian Smyth has said while there is no guarantee that international travel will reopen on 19 July, the plan remains that non-essential travel abroad can resume from that date. Are we not part of the EU which is fully opening travel from the 1st of July ! I have waited and waited smytho I finally booked flights to see family on July20th.
