Professor Philip Nolan has said that Ireland could see between 3,000 and 6,000 new cases of Covid-19 daily at the peak of the third wave

THE CHAIR OF the Irish Epidemiological Modelling Advisory Group, Dr Philip Nolan has said that Ireland could see between 3,000 and 6,000 cases a day at the peak of the third wave.

It is expected that there will be over 3,000 new cases of Covid-19 confirmed tonight, including some of the 9,000 case backlog reported yesterday by Nolan. According to Nolan, Ireland is currently on the trajectory where health services could be impacted due to the influx of Covid-19 patients. The HSE has said that the Computerised Infectious Disease Reporting system faced connectivity issues due to the large volume of Covid-19 cases being uploaded to it.

Even taking into account that some laboratory positive results are from second tests and are therefore not new cases, the IT system is still understating the total number of positive tests by a certain amount. The spokesperson also confirmed that there will not be any limits to the number of cases that can be reported in a single day.

Ah well. Big swing. Let’s party 🎉

I agree. . we are picking bodies off the streets on a daily basis, there's queues for food, fights at the filling stations and goons looking for toilet roll. We prioritize this latest strain and defend our population from further carnage

Would you please STOP this constant scaremongering of how many cases are about to be reported. They will be what they will be, but this crystal ball method of reporting is not helping.

All based on the pack of lies that PCR produces. CT way above sensible levels, poor trained staff cross contaminating the samples, not looking for enough of the Sars-Cov-2 genome to be certain of what they've 'found'. CMOIreland and his pals in the govt following WHO orders.

Can he also tell me the lotto numbers

That's not scary enough, he should have said 10,000, the over 80s would just keel over and die on the spot, end of covid prob.

I didn’t even know we had a second wave 😀😀😀😀😀

Any sign of LeoVaradkar or SimonHarrisTD or MichealMartinTD fiannafailparty FineGael there always on here to blame us and say we can do better, where are they now ?

Cos there's a backlog of 9,000 positive cases that can't be entered into the antiquated computer system that has a max capacity for 1,700 records.

Bad political misjudgment is the cause. 1. Too late to go to Level 5 lockdown. 2. Too early to release from Level 5 lockdown 3. Too late to restore Level 5 lockdown. Add, too little restriction on entry from abroad, especially SE England, lack of clear messaging on distancing

It’s the testing we should be concerned about... External peer review of the RTPCR test to detect SARS-CoV-2 reveals 10 major scientific flaws at the molecular and methodological level: consequences for false positive results.

And yet they are going ahead with opening schools. Madness
