Sinn Féin to push for mortgage relief while independents look to hit back at planning rejection for Shannon LNG terminal

Sinn Féin is seeking to ramp up the pressure on the government to reintroduce mortgage interest relief when the Dáil returns this week.

The party is moving a motion on Tuesday calling for a tax relief worth up to €1,500 for mortgage holders who have been hit by these rising interest rates, at an annual cost of €400 million to the exchequer.
