A bizarre “shrine” to Madeleine McCann was found near the Barragem do Arade reservoir in Portugal just months after her disappearance – close to where Portuguese and German police were searching this week.
"Back then when we found it the whole thing was just so weird,” Ann, 67, told the Daily Mail. “At the time I thought, 'has someone dumped Madeleine in the water and then come back to make a shrine in her memory?'"After failing to get a response from local police the couple forgot about the peculiar incident until three years ago, when German police announced the arrest of prime suspect Christian Brueckner.
Several items have been discovered in this week’s excavation of the area that convicted sex offender Brueckner called his “little paradise,” including a bra and several other items of clothing.
