It’s been several months since Budget 2023 was announced, however, there are still many changes set to take effect.

For those who may have forgotten, here are the nine welfare benefit changes to expect in January 2023.The maximum rate of all weekly social welfare payments will increase by €12 with proportional increases to occur for qualified adults and people on reduced rates of payment. There is also a change for the weekly rate for a qualified child. For children under 12 years of age, the amount will increase by €2 from €40 to €42.The Fuel Allowance income threshold will go from €120 to €200 above the applicable State Pension rate for people aged under 70 years of age.
