Politicians across the US and the world, as well as pro and anti-abortion groups and various non-governmental organisations are reacting to today's ruling by the US Supreme Court to end citizens' constitutional right to abortion.
"A woman’s fundamental health decisions are her own to make, in consultation with her doctor and her loved ones – not to be dictated by far-right politicians. "This is an historic victory for the constitution and for the most vulnerable in our society," he said in a statement. The head of the World Health Organization said he was very disappointed by the overturning of the landmark US abortion ruling Roe v Wade.
