The comedian recently replaced Ryan Tubridy as host of The Late Late Show, after the latter decided to take a break from the spotlight. But in other news, Patrick was also the recipient of an honorary doctorate from Ulster University for his contribution to the arts.
In another breath, Patrick revealed his other half was in complete disbelief when she learned he had received the prestigious honour, as he said: "I think Cat Deeley would be a great one to give an honorary degree to. Patrick also added, when asked what he would recommend to Ulster students wishing to kickstart their career in the arts and entertainment: "My advice for someone who wants to get into entertainment is: don’t! Clearly older comedians like me still need to work so I would say do a degree and go into something completely different, please don’t come and steal my dinner!"
