Pat Kenny's media firm records profits of almost €2.4 million

The media firm of Newstalk presenter Pat Kenny recorded accumulated profits of just under €2.4 million last year, according to accounts just filed to the Companies Office.

Kenny, 76, owns 85 percent of the company, while his wife Kathy, 61, owns the remaining 15 percent. Both are listed as directors of the firm.The former Late Late Show host has worked for Newstalk since 2013, having left RTÉ after 41 years. He had been the national broadcaster’s top earner for several years, raking in €950,956 in 2008.

Annual profits declined to €99,415 compared to €248,178 during the preceding financial year, but the firm remains in rude health with accumulated earnings of almost €2.4 million reported in the latest accounts. “I don’t know whether it’ll ever happen… I suspect that Ryan might be back on RTÉ before me,” he said.
