'Paradise to Paris' for Ireland's relay teams after qualifying for the Olympics

Sharlene Mawdsley declared that Ireland's relay teams are going from "Paradise to Paris" after qualifying for the 2024 Olympics.

"Knowing that we're going to be going to Paris is something special. We did it in 2021 and know we've done it in 2024, so from Paradise to Paris, baby!". "We couldn’t have asked for much more. Two wins, two national records, what a dreamy night," she said.The mixed relay team was made up of Cillin Greene , Adeleke , Thomas Barr and Mawdsley , recording a time of 3:12.50 to claim victory in their heat.

Phil Healy ran the third leg and Mawdsley brought the Ireland team home in 50.98, beating Great Britain's Lina Nielsen to the line.
