Over 3,000 children now homeless in Ireland as figures rise again

And 3,071 of those are children, according to the latest monthly report by the Department of Housing.

“The Government, local authorities and those in our NGO sectors are making every effort to reduce homelessness. Key to this is the delivery of new social housing and boosting overall supply.” And the number of new families entering emergency accommodation has decreased from Quarter 1 by almost 14%. There were 7,421 homeless adults recorded in June and 1,385 families were recorded as homeless, including 3,071 children .
