Over 250,000 people waiting for scans in hospitals, NTPF figures show.

Sinn Féin's Health Spokesman David Cullinane said the figures are shocking.

"We know that, separate from diagnostic waiting lists, we have just under 900,000 people on some form of hospital or acute hospital waiting lists," he said."To have just over 250,000 people waiting for a scan of some description, it's incredible that we have the amount of people waiting for a scan that we do," he added.

The HSE said the figures relate to the number of people waiting for new appointments or return/planned/surveillance scans. The HSE said funds have been provided to address the waiting lists this year. Not a suprise. The HSE scanners only start at 9am and are idle after 5pm each evening. They are also gathering dust all weekend. In private healthcare settings these machines are humming from 7am until 9pm and also on Saturdays and sometimes Sundays.

Health system is a disaster. Money-making racket passing patients from scan to consultant after consultant, clocking up the €€€ and the patients getting nowhere.

All to the benefit of the private hospitals, hospitals built by people who have their foot in the government, and the likes of Leo the leek sharing state secrets,The HSE is let run down on purpose, to kill off the old and frail, social benefit recipients, its the brown envelop club
