One man arrested after gardai seized €800,000 of drugs in Dublin

One man was arrested after gardai seized a huge haul of drugs and cash during the search of a vehicle in west Dublin.One man, aged 47, was arrested. He is currently detained pursuant to the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act 1996 at Clondalkin Garda Station, Dublin Live reports.

The arrest was made by the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau as part of an ongoing investigation targeting serious and organised crime. A garda spokesman said: “As part of an ongoing investigation targeting serious and organised crime, personnel attached to the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau , intercepted and searched a vehicle in the Clondalkin Area of West Dublin on Tuesday 20th October 2020.

“In the course of the operation forty kilogrammes of Cannabis with an estimated street value of €800,000 was seized along with approximately €80,000 in cash. “One male, aged 47 has been arrested and is currently detained pursuant to the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act 1996 at Clondalkin Garda Station.”
